Campers will be separated into two age groups: grades 3-5 and grades 6-8. They will be given guided instruction as they work through various artistic projects. Campers will also be able to still take part in all of their favorite camp activities such as canoeing, swimming, games, hiking, etc. If you have an interest in visual art, regardless of your skill level or past experience, this camp is for you!
Discovery - June 29-30 This event is perfect for first-time campers! They experience all the best parts of camp and one safe overnight stay. They’ll take part in games, swimming, crafts, Bible study, hikes, & s’mores. Give your little ones an experience they will always remember, at Wakonda!
Voyagers (Grades 2-5) - July 1-3 see below under grades 3-5 This is a classic camp experience at Wakonda. All of our favorite camp activities can be found in this program: craft time, hiking, cooking a meal over the fire, spending time at the lake, playing games, sleeping in a cabin and eating in the dining hall. This is a great intermediate step for campers who liked Discovery camp. It is also a great initial experience for first-time campers.
Wakonda Forever! - June 15-20 This is a camper favorite. Wakonda Forever gives campers the chance to experience some of their favorite characters and stories. Games and activities will be themed to match some of our favorite fandoms: Marvel, Harry Potter, Star Wars, & more. Join us as these epic sagas come to life!
Explorers - June 22-27 Campers will learn about the world around them as they focus on topics such as animals, tracking, plants and their uses, species identification, the 10 essentials, and others! Campers will have the chance to take part in experiments, scavenger hunts and observation of the natural world.

The activities will be based on the talents and interests of our summer staff.

Outpost: Roughing It - June 22-27 In this outpost experience, campers will take part in some of their favorite camp activities. They will also learn various campcraft and survival skills. Skills might include helping to prepare/ clean up meals counselors are making over the fire, outdoor safety, the 10 Essentials, species identification, knots, etc. This more rustic camp experience is very popular with campers. Campers stay in rustic cabins.
Outpost: Up All Night - July 1-3 Is your camper a night owl? Would your child like to stay up late and sleep all morning – even at camp?? Campers will spend two nights at Wakonda in this outpost experience* - playing late-night games, going on night hikes, and sleeping until lunch. They will experience camp in an exciting new way! Campers stay in rustic cabins. Choose Your Own Adventure -–July 6-11 Campers will have two opportunities each day to choose the activities they want to do. Senior High: Seeking the Great Spirit Our senior high campers have three options, all of which will run over the same week: Camper ONLY; Staff Assistant ONLY (training); or Camper & Staff Assistant. Campers for all options of this camp stay in rustic cabins.
Camper ONLY - June 15-20 Teens who desire to only be campers will have the classic camp experience with a twist: each day, they will choose their favorite activities from the provided options.
Staff Assistant ONLY (training) - June 18-20 Those who desire to only serve as Staff Assistants will have a shorter experience, during which they will learn about what it means to serve in this role. Workshops will be focused on various aspects of camp leadership.
Camper & Staff Assistant (training) - June 15-20 Teens who want to experience camp as a camper and have the chance to lead as a staff assistant later in the summer get the best of both worlds. In the first part of the week, they will choose their favorite activities from the provided options; in the second part of the week, they will have workshops that will train them in camp leadership.
Wakonda For All - Sept. 5-7- $120 per adult & $85 per child (1-night: $60per adult & $42 per child) Campers of all ages are invited to come back to Wakonda and relive or make brand new memories at camp - all are welcome at this camp! Join us for the weekend as we explore nature, play games, and learn about God together. Come as a family or come on your own! (Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.)
Stay for lunch on the 15th at the Annual Wakonda Ox Roast (donation for lunch not included in the registration cost).
Wakonda Ox Roast Fundraiser - Sept. 7- No Cost - Donations Accepted Everyone is invited to share in good food and good company in a beautiful setting at Camp Wakonda, in Sherrodsville, OH. The Ox Roast is an annual fundraiser and we do not charge for you to attend or eat. All donations are appreciated.
