Capital Projects

       Over our history, we have come a long way from the first tents out on the camp field. Now, our 98 acres consist of 23 buildings and various outdoor spaces for prayer and play.
​       These facilities are truly a blessing from God that must be maintained for future generations. Much renovation and restoration are needed, providing us with a challenging but glorious opportunity.

Improving Buildings

       There are various improvements to be made to our 23 buildings: repairing chimneys and ceilings, adding new wood paneling, updating electrical, replacing flooring, and installing new metal roofs.

Upgrading Appliances & Electronics

       We are scheduling the replacement of various items around camp: energy-efficient freezers & water heaters, the whole-camp P.A. system, our mowing equipment and camp truck, as well as repairs to the walk-in cooler.

Beautifying Outdoor Spaces

       We are upgrading our outdoor areas: resurfacing the tennis courts, improving drainage across camp, adding beach and recreational amenities, removing dangerous trees, paving the road, and creating safer paths in the woods.

Expanding Our Facility

       For the first time in 63 years, we have the incredible opportunity of expanding the Wakonda property by purchasing four acres of neighboring property with an all-weather lodge, a newly-built pavilion, and lake access. 

Environmental Projects

       ​One of the significant initiatives of this campaign is to improve Wakonda’s ecological impact. Experiences in nature and the preservation of God’s creation have always been a part of what Camp Wakonda is about. Click the button below for more information!

Total Project Cost: $999,000**

*Projects will be addressed based on urgency of need as determined by the Director and the Pass It On Taskforce. Completion of projects will be overseen by Director, Camp Wakonda's Board, and the Business Administrator of Christ Presbyterian Church. All projects have been approved by the Session of Christ Presbyterian Church.
**We have included a 20% cost variance in our goal of $999,000, as well as a 10% Endowment for future maintenance.
