Health Center and Medications
At Wakonda, we want to keep your child safe and healthy!
Each week, a Registered Nurse, Paramedic, EMT, or EMR runs our health center when camp is in session. We keep records of all treatments and medication disbursements. We will always contact parents when treatment exceeds a First Aid level.
All medications are locked in the Health Center and distributed by our camp nurse. We have most over-the-counter meds on hand, so please only send prescription medicines with your child.
Please see our health precautions here.

Wholesome & Healthy Meals
"Camp Food" often has a stigma attached to it as highly processed and often unhealthy. At Camp Wakonda, we serve tasty, healthy food.
We take food safety seriously. If a camper has a food allergy or a special diet, we want to work with you to provide food safe for your child. Our crew is trained to provide the appropriate food in a way that makes the camper feel included. At every meal, we also have a separate vegetarian option.
